Canada’s Team
I’ve posted my thoughts on the James Moore hockey tweet “controversy” over at PuckProb. The short of it is this – Moore’s been a Canucks fan his entire life, so I tend to think he has suffered enough already. No need to pile on here. And, while I’m cross-promoting, here’s a look at the biggest […]

April Poll Soup – Guergis Fallout?
According to Frank Graves, the Jaffergis Imbruglio has caused Stephen Harper to “have cold beads of sweat popping out of his brow“. Well, the April poll numbers are in and, despite a slight dip Tory support, Harper’s lead over the Liberals actually went up. If the guy’s breaking into a cold sweat over that, he […]

This Just In: Conservatives Dislike the CBC
Last week, Stephen Taylor posted a fundraising letter where Doug Finley used the Frank Graves CBC controversy to fill the Tory coffers. The federal Alberta Liberals will be holding their convention in Lethbridge this weekend, with the big event being the race for President between incumbent George Hodgson, and the challenger, Dean Blake. Having been away from the scene for two years, I’m a little hesitant to weigh in, but my Victory Fund cheque still goes to […]

Wasylycia-Leis, Wasylycia-Leis, Wasylycia-Leis
The biggest tongue twister of a name is leaving Ottawa: Winnipeg MP Judy Wasylycia-Leis is giving up her seat in Parliament. Effective May 1, the longtime NDP politician will resign the Winnipeg North seat she has held since 1997. Wasylycia-Leis, 58, made the announcement Tuesday in Ottawa. There has been speculation she intends to run […]

Accidentally on Purpose
There’s a lot of buzz around Don Martin’s column today, titled “Speaker’s ruling may trigger election nobody wants“. Here’s the crux of it: It’s a safe bet Milliken will deliver a balanced response aimed at forcing both sides to seek a middle ground. But there’s considerable doubt it will offer a final solution. Prime Minister […]
