My first reaction to the Joe Volpe/Jimmy K split was that it wouldn’t be a crippling blow to Uncle Joe’s campaign.

However, I just heard from a very reliable source in Ontario that Jimmy K is making phone calls about…wait for it…tossing his hat into the leadership race. Apparently he believes that most of the members signed up are more loyal to him than Volpe (he’s been doing the Preschool speaking circuit too). It’s just a rumour at this point and I generally find that most of these “exploratory” calls lead to nowhere but it could be a sign that the rift between Volpe and Karygiannis is quite large.
