It appears some Liberals are upset by Stephen Harper’s musical performance at the Conservative Christmas Party:
Upstaged yet again by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who took to the stage Wednesday night at the Conservative caucus Christmas party, the Liberals were up early grumpily emailing reaction.
“Not even one song in French,” a senior Ignatieff official told The Globe and Mail on Thursday morning. “One week after Quebec’s artistic elite (over 100 songwriters and singers) came to Parliament Hill on C-32. It shows that he is clueless about Quebec culture.”
Well, Harper’s lack of french songs is not the only complaint they’re raising. I have it on good authority from anonymous Liberal insider strategists that the following lines of attack may also find their way into upcoming Liberal press releases:
-Of the five songs Harper selected, only one was by a Canadian artist. This is below Cancon regulations and a slap in the face to Canadian artists. Would it have killed Harper to serenade Helena Guergis with a little “hey hey you you I don’t like your boyfriend“?
-The one Canadian song he sang was “Share the Land” by the Guess Who. Share the Land sounds a lot like he supports [insert province] giving up it’s [oil/potash].
-The Rolling Stones? The band that has abused every substance known to mankind? Way to get tough on crime.
-Moreover, Sweet Caroline was written about Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK. Gee, what other US President has a daughter? George W. Bush. Again, Harper is showing himself to be nothing more than a Bush puppet.
– The Seeker is about a man who doesn’t get what he’s after until the day he dies. You know who else didn’t get what he was after? Hitler. I’m just saying.
-Remember that wafer Harper pocketed last year? Just thought we’d bring that up again.
